"Pull up! Pull up! Martha, look...that's a tree, just there!"

"I would have never guessed you were such a backseat driver," said Martha, narrowly avoiding the top of something resembling a fir.

The Doctor was clutching the edge of one of the ship’s control panels so hard his knuckles were white. "You could just let me take the controls?"

"Uh-uh," said Martha, swerving around another tree. "I've seen you fly the TARDIS."

"Yes, I have experience!" the Doctor argued, either missing or ignoring Martha’s implication about his driving skills.

Martha nodded toward the operator's manual that was open on the console before her. "I don't even need you." The Doctor made a high-pitched yelp and slid sideways as she turned hard to avoid another obstacle. "Seatbelts," she scolded.

"Eyes on the road!" he replied. "Er...sky. Whatever."

"You’re a terrible driving instructor," said Martha.

"Yes, well, you can slow down now," said the Doctor. "I think they've stopped chasing us."

Martha smiled. According to her console readouts the Imperial Guard had stopped chasing them miles back. But after months of bumpy TARDIS trips, she couldn't resist getting a little of her own back. She banked hard to the left.

"Martha!" the Doctor shrieked.

Oh, yeah. This was way too much fun to stop.
